Henry from Design Tavern sent me over this amazing post! This is just a taste of the amazing and interesting things you can find over there --- hope you will visit him over there.
How to make your own monster!

I found this ‘make your own monster kit’ at a local design market that is held twice a year in my city, where local traders and designers have the chance to show off some of their designer wares.
The kit is by Donna Wilson, a knitting nut from the UK and a self made knitting designer. She first started making these adorably hideous handmade monsters in order to combat the mass production of toys such as Barbie. They appeal to both children and adults alike for their unique quirkiness.
".. I think people have always connected with them, whenever I've shown them I always get an amazing reaction, people feel sorry for them laugh at them and want to touch them, I think they connect with their personality, and perhaps create a sense of nostalgia in adults.."
But wait! Just say you have a decent day job and can afford to splash out a little more on your pet monster, than perhaps you can employ the services of F.A.O Schwarz and their own Make your Own Monster Kit.
